A Visit to Colombia is never complete without seeing Cano Cristales. It is known by different names “world’s most beautiful river” and “the river of five colors”. It is also know as “Muller’s River”.
Cano Cristales, Columbia River lies in northern region of La Macarena area. It flows 20 meter wide and length is about 100 Kilometer.
It is located at quite a remote location. only accessible by horses and donkeys. The remote location and beauty of the river makes is even more special as there are rarely any other tourist around in the area.
As you can see in the pictures of Cano Cristales, It is perhaps a part of paradise on earth. so much beauty, so many colors and shades.. its just awesome. But like any other kind of beauty, this scene has a very short life.
It lasts for only a few days between the rainy and dry seasons. when the water lever is just right.
The beautiful colors are due to thousands of kinds of algae and moss that coupled with bright sunlight creates a rainbow of colors so beautiful that you never want to leave the river bank.
So next time if you get a chance to visit Colombia, do plan it in a way that you see the Cano Cristales river in its full glory.
